Teranet Land Information Services Inc., a leading provider of integrated land information systems and software in Ontario, completed a successful private placement of revenue bonds on September 8, 1999 underwritten by a syndicate consisting of RBC Dominion Securities Inc., ScotiaMcLeod Inc. and Lévesque Beaubien Geoffrion Inc. (now National Bank Financial Services Inc.). The revenue bonds were sold on a private placement basis in Canada and pursuant to Rule 144A in the United States. Teranet is jointly owned by the Province of Ontario and a consortium of private sector investors and is responsible for automating and maintaining Ontario’s land registration system. Teranet also develops and markets software used by legal, real estate and other professionals to provide remote access to land information and other databases and services.

The underwriters were advised by Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. The Osler team was comprised of Jean Fraser, George Valentini, Douglas Marshall and associate Desmond Lee, with tax advice provided by David Tetreault and associate Susan Fisher.
