On December 4, 2002, the Kilmer Group, the private investment holding entity of Lawrence M. Tanenbaum, joined OMERS and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investment Board) as a shareholder of Borealis Capital Corporation. The value of the deal is undisclosed. Borealis is an independent manager of alternative capital assets, and currently has more than $9 billion of private equity, real estate and infrastructure assets under management.
In connection with the acquisition, Tanenbaum has been appointed a director and vice-chairman of Borealis, and Dale Lastman of Goodmans LLP was appointed a director.
