On March 10, 2009, UFA Holdings Inc., a wholly owned US subsidiary of United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative Limited, completed the acquisition from Sportsman's Warehouse Inc. of 15 outdoor adventure sporting goods stores located in the states of Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho and North Dakota.
The purchase price for the acquisition was approximately US$65 million. United Farmers of Alberta Co-op is Canada's largest re-seller of diesel products and serves rural communities throughout Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan with a construction division and a network of retail stores and petroleum outlets.
