Wheaton River Minerals Ltd. acquired Minas Luismin, S.A. de C.V. from Sanluis Corporacion, S.A. de C.V., a public Mexican company for US$75 million. Minas Luismin is the fourth-largest producer of gold and the third-largest producer of silver in Mexico. The acquisition closed on June 20, 2002.
