On October 3, 2002, Calgary-headquartered Wittke Inc. and Oak Brock, Illinois-based Federal Signal Corporation completed a court and shareholder approved plan of arrangement pursuant to which Federal Signal acquired, through a wholly owned subsidiary, all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Wittke at $12.50 per share, payable half in cash and half in Federal Signal common shares, for total consideration of approximately $104 million. Wittke is a leading manufacturer of refuse trucks in North America.
