Partner and Registered Patent and Trademark Agent in Canada and the United States. Practice is focused on patent preparation and prosecution, licensing and technology transfer, acquisition and divestiture of technology, and patent-related opinions. Acts for clients in the fields of biotechnology, nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and forestry, and in the oil & gas industry. Ted teaches patent and industrial design law at the University of Alberta, in the Faculty of Law, and is a frequent speaker on current topics in patent law in Canada and the United States. Fellow of Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and former member of the Patent Agent Examining Board, member of the Licensing Executives Society, the Association of University Technology Managers, and BioAlberta. Ted has served as a board member or organizer for numerous charitable and non-profit organizations, such as The Arthritis Society, Scottish United Soccer Club, and the Alberta Soccer Association.
