Alison Manzer practises commercial and corporate finance with a broad focus. Her authored books include Halsbury’s Laws of Canada, Banking and Finance 2012 (LexisNexis); A Practical Guide to Canadian Partnership Law (CLB); Canada-US Commercial Law Guide and Law in International Finance (Thomson Carswell); Asset Based Lending in Canada and Real Estate Finance in Canada (LexisNexis); The Corporate Counsel Guide to Banking and Credit, 2015 and Project Finance in Canada, 2016 (Thomson Reuters). She is a frequent lecturer on legal topics and has authored over 300 articles. She is active with the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers (Regent), the Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys (Past-President), the American Bar Association (Chair, Programs Committees), and the American Bar Foundation. Alison has held directorships in several financial services entities. She holds an MBA (U of T), LLM (York U) (banking and financial services), and MSc (Bus Research, Reading), and is currently completing her DBA (Reading U). Alison completed the Canadian Securities Institute securities courses including the advanced program in Investment Finance. She is recognized as a leading lawyer by such organizations as Chambers and Best Lawyers. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979.
