Senior partner and Co-Chair of firm’s Class Actions Group. He practises in the areas of commercial and administrative litigation and engages in a wide range of complex cross-border litigation. He has appeared before all levels of courts in Ontario, the Federal Court of Canada and the Supreme Court of Canada. He is considered one of Canada’s leading practitioners in class actions and has defended in the areas of product liability, insurance, employment, securities, environmental, construction, institutional abuse, mass torts, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer protection and competition law covering such well known subjects as breast implants, prescription drugs, international cartel price fixing, toxic mould, defibrillators and pacemakers, vanishing premiums, contaminated food and water, aftermarket auto parts, insurance salvage deductibles, bank and credit card charges, mass terminations, pension surpluses, investment fraud and institutional abuse. He is a frequent lecturer in areas relating to advocacy, class proceedings and cross-border litigation and has regularly co-chaired the Canadian Institute’s National Forum on Class Action Litigation. He has been an Adjunct Professor at Queen’s University teaching the course Class Proceedings.
