Barry Gamache specializes in trademark law. He has practised in this field for more than three decades. He has been named several times over the years among the best lawyers in Canada in the field of intellectual property by The Best Lawyers in Canada publication. He has been involved in numerous disputes that have had impact on trademark law. His practice focuses on, but is not limited to, disputes concerning trademark law, for the most part, before the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal. Barry Gamache is the author of several articles on topics of interest relating to trademarks. He is one of the editors of the Canadian Trade-Marks Act Annotated. Outside the office, he is a lecturer at Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Law where he has been involved with the moot court program since 1998. Barry Gamache is an active litigator. He has represented clients before various courts including the Court of Appeal of Québec, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also participated in numerous hearings before the Opposition Board of the Trademarks Office. Several rulings in cases argued by Barry Gamache have had an impact in trademark law and are now relied upon by the legal community.
