Michael Dery is a Partner andthe leader of Alexander Holburn’s Aviation practice. He represents aviation insurers, airlines, operators, flight schools, UAV operators, AMOs, and FBOs in complex litigation and regulatory matters. He provides counsel and advice to clients on litigation arising out of aircraft accidents, aviation-related product liability litigation, class actions, airline claims, human rights matters, and various other transportation-related issues. He has appeared for clients before the courts of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, the Northwest Territories, and the Federal Court of Canada. He has also represented clients before the Canadian Transportation Agency, the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada, and the Canadian Human Rights Commission. Michael has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in Canada in Aviation Law (since 2020), Who’s Who Legal (Transport — Aviation Contentious Global Leader (2023) and Canada Transport — Aviation National Leader (2022), and Guide to the World’s Leading Aviation Lawyers (since 2013).
