David is the co-Head of the Bennett Jones LLP Power and Renewable Energy Practice Group. He represents clients in the energy sector, both domestically and internationally. He has significant experience in the development of commercial energy projects, with an emphasis on structuring power projects (gas, coal, hydro, other renewables and alternative fuels), pipeline and oil & gas and storage projects in Western Canada and the frontier areas of the East Coast, Mackenzie Delta and Northwest Territories, including major domestic energy project experience that includes Mackenzie Valley Pipeline and the Terra Nova and Sable Island offshore projects. Internationally, he has represented clients in the acquisition of significant energy infrastructure assets in Australia and power development projects in Australia, Mexico and South America. He advises on the legal requirements in respect of most commercial aspects of energy project developments including structuring necessary to support financing requirements of such projects including project financing, conventional debt and private equity.
