Martin is a senior partner in the Technology and IP Practice Groups. His practice focuses on complex and cross-border matters in intellectual property, data protection, cyber security and technology law, including cyber security, breach response, patent, copyright and trademark protection, IP and IT transactions, IP commercialization, IP and IT strategy and opinions, anti-spam compliance, data protection, privacy, ecommerce, licenses, procurement, M&A and technology transfers. He advises clients in many industries including energy, electronic commerce, software, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and entertainment. Martin is national co-director of Osgoode Hall Law School Intellectual Property LLM program and teaches courses in the IP and the Business Law LLM programs. He also teaches a cyber security law course at Concordia University of Edmonton. He has written over 450 publications on IP Law, Internet Law, Cyber Security and other related topics.
