Jonathan Fleisher is a partner whose practice focuses on the commercial finance industry with a particular emphasis on innovative cross-border transactions and equipment finance. He has significant experience assisting US commercial finance companies (public and private) with establishing operations in Canada. The advice he provides ranges from the development of micro-ticket programs to complex international program agreements and syndicated leverage lease transactions and securitizations (private and public). Jonathan is a former director of the Canadian Finance & Leasing Association. He was named one of North America’s 25 Most Influential Equipment Finance and Leasing Lawyers and is a Regent of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers. Jonathan authored the Lexis/Nexis book “Equipment Finance in Canada in 2018 and is a frequent lecturer. He has also authored the equipment finance chapter in Canada Forms and Precedents as well as a report for the Equipment Leasing and Finance Foundation entitled "Oh Canada! Seeking Growth North of the Border." Jonathan is also recognized as a leading lawyer by Best Lawyers where he was named Lawyer of the Year – Equipment Finance 2022 (Toronto). He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1989.
