Gervas’s practice extends from the prosecution of complex patent and trademark applications to intellectual property litigation. He appears in the courts of the province of Ontario, the Federal Court of Canada, as well as before the Trademarks Opposition Board and Patent Appeal Board. Gervas has many years of experience in litigation in intellectual property and technology, including applications, trials, and appeals. He advises on complex licensing issues and has acted as special intellectual property counsel in major corporate transactions and to international organizations. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1981 and is a Registered Patent and Trademark Agent.
In July, the Business Development Bank of Canada Capital announced a new intellectual property development financing envelope to support intellectual property-focused companies in Canada
