Cynthia Elderkin is the managing partner of Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office. A member of the Business Law Group, Cyndy has a transaction-based practice that includes personal property security matters, secured financings, outsourcings, acquisitions, equipment leases, maintenance and operation agreements, dealer and distribution agreements, joint ventures, teaming arrangements, P3 and procurement/project arrangements, and manufacturing and supply agreements. Additional areas of her practice include general corporate and commercial law with a particular focus on commercial and consumer contracts. Her industry experience includes transportation, aviation, fibre optics manufacturing and infrastructure. She has represented individuals, small organizations, not-for-profit and for-profit entities, private and public companies and local, national and international companies, and has been the lead lawyer on numerous sophisticated national and cross-border transactions. She is a co-author of Behind and Beyond Boilerplate: Drafting Commercial Agreements, 5th Edition (Thomson Reuters). Community-oriented, Cyndy was a director of the Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre for five years.
