Rafal Wrzesien is a partner in Gowling WLG Montreal’s Business Law Group. He also leads the Central and Eastern Europe Country Desk of Gowling WLG Canada. The focus of Rafal’s practice is business law with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, distressed M&A, procurement, and construction. He advises Canadian and international clients – including private and public companies and private equity investors – on the legal aspects of projects, particularly in the technology, infrastructure, and energy sectors. In this capacity, he is regularly involved in the preparation and negotiation of various types of commercial agreements, including acquisition contracts (shares and assets), shareholder agreements, construction contracts, and bid materials. Rafal’s legal practice is informed by the business experience he acquired while working in Europe as vice-president of operations and business development at a leading Polish energy and hazardous waste management company. He also lectures at the John Molson School of Business (Concordia University) MBA program.
