Robert MacDonald is a partner and trademark agent in the Ottawa office of Gowling WLG and serves as co-leader of the firm's Intellectual Property Group. Certified by The Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Intellectual Property Law (trademarks), he has over 35 years of experience in all areas of trademark practice, including prosecution, licensing, oppositions, and litigation in the Federal Court of Canada. Robert specializes in assisting clients with clearing, protecting, and enforcing their brands in the Canadian market. He is active in various organizations including IPIC, INTA, and Marques and is frequently called upon to speak on trademark law.
