Frank Mulock is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office. He practises in intellectual property with an emphasis on trademark prosecution, litigation, portfolio management, licensing, litigation, anti-counterfeiting, and domain name issues. Frank protects the brands of a diverse range of clients, from retailers and clothing manufacturers to motor vehicle, entertainment, and broadcast companies. He was editor of the Canadian Patent Reporter, the leading Canadian intellectual property law report edited by the firm, from 1992 to 1999. Frank practises before the Canadian Trademarks Opposition Board and the Federal Court of Canada. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, and the International Trademark Association. Called to the Ontario Bar in 1986, Frank received his law degree from the University of Ottawa. Frank has been recognized in The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory, Who’s Who Legal: Canada, Who’s Who Legal: Trademarks, The Best Lawyers in Canada, World Trademark Review 1000, and Expert Guides: Trademarks. He was named an “Acritas Star,” an award based solely on client evaluation, in 2017, 2018, and 2019. In 2015, Frank was also the winner of the ILO/Lexology Client Choice Award for Trademarks (Ontario).
