Jean-François De Rico is a partner in Langlois lawyers’ office. He practises in the areas of commercial litigation, information technology law and bankruptcy & insolvency. He is a member of the executive committee and the partner in charge of the Québec City office. In the area of information technology, he advises organizations on governance and regulatory compliance, on the negotiating and drafting of contracts, the protection of personal information and the management of IP rights. He also provides advice on the development of software applications, the outsourcing of IT services, the supply and procurement of IT equipment and the implementation of e-business processes. In addition, he assists clients in the drafting of organizational policies on the protection of personal information, electronic communications (commercial emails, social media), information security and the management of electronic documents. He also represents businesses, financial institutions and public bodies in litigious matters in various areas of activity such as the outsourcing of IT services, IT-related calls for tenders, and disputes involving trademarks and domain names.
