He advises employers on a broad range of workplace issues relating to labour relations, employment, human rights, health & safety, privacy, and business immigration. He regularly advises US, UK, Chinese, and other offshore clients in connection with establishing business operations in British Columbia. He also advises on and negotiates labour and employment issues in corporate mergers, acquisitions, and outsourcing. He provides strategic, day-to-day operational advice concerning labour relations, employment, human rights, health & safety, privacy, and immigration matters. He regularly represents management in collective bargaining, negotiations, investigations, mediations, arbitrations, administrative hearings, and in court. He frequently assists organizations with managing workplace crises and conflicts, harassment and discrimination matters, the duty to accommodate, investigations and discipline, hiring and firing, workplace policies, employment standards, negotiating executive agreements, restrictive covenants, and obtaining work permits and permanent resident status for foreign workers. He was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2001 and has exclusively practised employer-side workplace law since.
