Mary Flynn-Guglietti has over 40 years' experience in the practice of municipal land use planning law, property development law, and expropriation law. She has extensive experience in obtaining approvals of citywide and site-specific official plan amendments, rezonings, subdivision approvals, severances, site plan approval, and variances. She represents developers, landowners, ratepayers, and municipalities. She regularly appears before various committees of council and numerous municipal councils throughout the province of Ontario with particular experience in the Greater Toronto Area. She has extensive experience before the Ontario Municipal Board, the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal, the Ontario Land Tribunal, the Toronto Local Appeal Body, and the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario on appeal. She writes and speaks extensively on municipal and land use planning law for the Ontario Bar Association and the Law Society of Ontario.
On November 30, 2018, Essar Steel Algoma Inc. (“ESAI”) concluded its comprehensive restructuring under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act by way of the sale of substantially all of its assets to Algoma Steel Inc. (“ASI”).
