Don Eady's practice includes union-side labour, employment, human rights and administrative law, judicial review, and government relations. He has experience in all aspects of labour relations, collective bargaining, employment and human rights law, pension and benefits law, occupational health and safety, and workers’ compensation. Don has appeared before numerous administrative tribunals and trial and appellate courts in the Province of Ontario. Between 1991 and 1994, he was Special Assistant to the Ontario Ministry of Labour. Don was counsel to the Ontario Public Service Employees Union with respect to the Walkerton Inquiry and co-author of Ontario Public Sector Employment & Labour Law (2005, Irwin Law). Don is counsel to the Canadian Football League Players’ Association. Most recently, Don acted for a group who challenged the Province of Ontario’s ability to amend municipal ward boundaries during the municipal election campaign. Don speaks at conferences on issues ranging from human rights law to picketing injunctions to construction labour relations. Don is a member of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers and The Advocates' Society and was ranked by Chambers Canada 2019 for Employment & Labour – Labour for Unions. Don has also been ranked by Lexpert since 2009.
