Alistair Simpson is a partner in Smart & Biggar's Calgary office. He has been advising clients on intellectual property matters for more than 30 years. Alistair's practice encompasses all areas of intellectual property law including procurement, transactions and exploitation (including licensing), United States and Canadian opinion work, and enforcement and defence work (including litigation), with a particular emphasis on patents. He has extensive expertise working with clients in industries related to high technology and mechanical subject matter, such as telecommunication systems, industrial machinery and systems—including packaging equipment, agricultural equipment, injection molding technologies, energy-related technologies, and medical devices.
