Evan Nuttall is a Principal in Smart & Biggar's Calgary office. He has held the role of lead counsel in high-profile patent disputes. His practice is focused exclusively on complex litigation matters including infringement actions relating to patents, licensing, trademarks, copyright, and industrial designs. Known as extremely diligent and capable, he uses his practical knowledge of business objectives to provide solid strategic advice and acts as a forceful advocate on behalf of his clients. Prior to his legal career in Canada, he practised in England as a barrister. He has appeared before the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, the Federal Court, and Federal Court of Appeal in Canada, and the Court of Appeal of England and Wales. He holds a MSc (economics) from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a MSc (finance) from the London Business School.
