Dan Melamed is a partner at Torkin Manes LLP. He is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a family law specialist. He is a fully qualified mediator and arbitrator assisting clients and family law lawyers to resolve matters in a sensible, efficient, and private manner. In matters of property, spousal, and child support, he has been involved in the determination of income, the valuation of multinational and privately held corporations, stock options, and senior executive pensions. He provides counsel regarding the forensic investigation of hidden offshore assets. His practice includes complex custody and access issues involving jurisdictional disputes, and blended and extended families. He is preferred counsel to The Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity Company (LawPRO), insurance provider for lawyers in the Province of Ontario, to defend family lawyers where negligence is claimed.
