James A. Woods, founder of Woods LLP, practises in litigation and arbitration and pleads at all levels of federal and provincial courts in Ontario and Quebec, including the Supreme Court of Canada. He was called to the bar of Quebec in 1976, of Ontario in 1979, of Alberta and BC in 2006, of England and Wales in 2007, and of Paris in 2013. He received the title of advocatus emeritus from the Quebec Bar in 2013. He has acted as attorney or as arbitrator, either as president or as a member of the Arbitration Tribunal, in a significant number of commercial and international cases, both ad hoc and under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
