Alexandra Johnson Dingee is a trademark lawyer committed to protecting and preserving the integrity of brands and intellectual property. She provides clients with exceptional trademark clearance and prosecution services and advises on all areas of trademark law with precision and expertise.
Alexandra’s practice also includes reporting and overcoming objections from the Trademarks Office, and trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademarks Opposition Board (TMOB). She also provides guidance relating to product packaging and labelling, advertising campaigns, misleading advertising complaints, and the use of digital platforms. Alexandra is a member of the firm’s Marketing and Advertising group.
Before joining Smart & Biggar as an Associate, Alexandra was an articling student and summer student in our Toronto office.
During her legal studies, Alexandra specialized in Intellectual Property, Information and Technology and completed an independent legal research course on copyright law. In 2021, Alexandra was presented with an Industrial and Intellectual Property award for her exceptional academic ability in this area of law.
In addition to her academic achievements, Alexandra worked as a Senior IP Fellow for the Intellectual Property and Innovation Pro Bono Clinic and was involved in a wide range of extra-curriculars, including acting as elected third-year class representative on the Student Legal Society and as an executive member of Western’s Intellectual Property Association.
