Rebecca Ma has recently taken on the role of head, deputy general counsel, chief privacy & compliance officer at Interac Corp., a Canadian interbank network that facilitates electronic financial transactions between financial institutions and other enterprises.
Ma brings a wealth of expertise in developing and implementing regulatory and risk management policies, managing personnel, and providing strategic counsel to leadership and boards. She is experienced in managing privacy, compliance, and legal frameworks. Her background positions her as a leader, well-versed in overseeing complex, large-scale projects involving global, multi-disciplinary teams.
Before her appointment at Interac, Ma served as the chief privacy officer and executive legal counsel at Questrade Financial Group for more than two years. Her career includes significant roles at Canada Life as the head of privacy and at Great-West Lifeco Inc. as senior corporate counsel. Ma completed her law degree at Western University in 2008.
