Adriana Cargnello is a partner in the Ottawa office of Gowling WLG. Her practice focuses on health law and medical defence, including acting as counsel to the Canadian Medical Protective Association for many years. Her extensive experience in health law encompasses regulatory and civil liability matters with a focus on physicians. She studied both common law and civil law and is licensed to practise in both Ontario (2002) and Quebec (2003). She practises both in English and in French and has been a guest lecturer in the Common Law and Civil Law Sections of the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, le Barreau du Québec, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the County of Carleton Law Association, l'Association des juristes d'expression française de l'Ontario, and le Barreau de Montréal. She has sat on the board of directors of different organizations, including Dress for Success Ottawa, a local charity assisting disadvantaged women to acquire and maintain employment and achieve financial independence.
