Alex Sadvari

Alexandra (Alex) Sadvari is a partner in Gowling WLG's Toronto office practising environmental, renewable energy, land use planning and development law. She is a core member of Gowling’s Environmental Group and the co-head of the firm's BioEnergy Group. Alex provides clients with regulatory advice and representation. She delivers legal advice on a wide array of matters, including: environmental approvals and compliance, land use development, environmental risks in transactions, import and export of hazardous substances, transportation of dangerous goods, provincial and federal environmental/impact assessments, and carbon markets and credits. In addition, Alex acts as an advocate for clients in land use planning appeals and regulatory prosecutions, appearing before administrative tribunals, including the Ontario Land Tribunal as well as the Ontario Court of Justice. Alex’s familiarity with the energy sector was further enhanced by spending a year on secondment at Ontario Power Generation Inc.
