Alexandre Forest is a member of Gowling WLG Montreal's Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Insolvency Group and its Commercial Litigation Group, notably construction and real estate law, and commercial leasing. His practice involves representing companies in the process of restructuring as well as their creditors, as well as various aspects of commercial and civil litigation, and real estate. Alexandre's experience covers a wide range of mortgage remedy matters (particularly regarding construction liens), landlord/tenant disputes, construction claims, as well as the elaboration of various emergency procedures (injunction, safeguard order, etc.) and latent defect matters. He has also worked on several international files including various cases pertaining to the international jurisdiction of Québec courts. He has been recognized in The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory and The Best Lawyers™ in Canada and was a member of the teams awarded the "Insolvency & Restructuring Deal of the Year" at the 2022 and 2023 Canadian Law Awards. He was Bâtonnier (president) of the Montreal Bar in 2019-2020, the youngest to serve as such. He will be serving as president of the Quebec division of the Canadian Bar Association for the 2025-2026 term.
