Amyn has more than 20 years of experience representing Indigenous clients in negotiations and advocacy for Canada’s largest resource-based projects and economic development initiatives. He advises Indigenous governments, leaders and development corporations in various areas of law, dedicated to providing exceptional service and representation. Amyn represents Indigenous clients in the development of mines, hydroelectric projects, oil and gas projects, pipelines and other large-scale resource developments. Amyn advocates for the section 35 rights of clients before various courts and tribunals, including the Federal Court of Appeal, Impact Assessment Agency of Canada, Canadian Energy Regulator, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Alberta Utilities Commission and Alberta Energy Regulator. Amyn advises Indigenous governments and leaders on section 35 rights, governance, tax, trusts, litigation and employment matters. Amyn is recognized as a leading practitioner in aboriginal law by The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory (2014–2016; 2022–present) and mining (2015–2016). He was featured in the Lexpert Special Edition: Mining (2023), and Lexpert Special Edition: Energy (2014–2016). He is called to the bars of British Columbia (2000), Alberta (2011) and Saskatchewan (2017).
