Antoine Guilmain is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montréal office. He co-leads the firm's national Cybersecurity & Data Protection Group and is a member of its Technology Group. Antoine provides advice on a range of issues including data protection and privacy, European data protection regulation, anti-spam compliance, risk management and cybersecurity compliance, access to information, and consumer protection. He supports clients in the design and deployment of emerging technologies, including AI automation, the monetization of megadata, immersion through virtual, and augmented reality and connectivity through the Internet of Things. Antoine has represented clients before various courts and tribunals. He also assists clients in investigations conducted by regulatory authorities including privacy breaches. Antoine holds two PhD's in Information Technology Law and numerous certifications in the field of privacy. Prior to joining the firm, he held various positions at one of the largest US tech companies that required he work with product designers and engineers on the design and launch of new software and hardware as well as engaging with various regulators.
