Bernard Amyot is one of the founding partners of the firm. For more than 35 years, he has developed a practice primarily focused on civil and commercial litigation. He has extensive experience before all Quebec courts as well as federal courts and the Supreme Court of Canada, representing some of Canada’s leading financial institutions and corporations. He acted as lead counsel in many class actions involving multiple Canadian jurisdictions and cross-border issues. His professional liability defence work extends to lawyers, stockbrokers, insurance brokers, engineers, and accountants. He is also involved in shareholders’ rights files. He is regularly retained as an arbitrator or mediator in important commercial matters. Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (ACTL), and the International Society of Barristers, he is also recognized as a leading practitioner in corporate and commercial litigation by Chambers, Benchmark Canada, Best Lawyers, and The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory. He served as National President of the Canadian Bar Association and on the Board of Directors of The Advocates’ Society. He was member of Council of the Section of Litigation of the ABA. Since 2022, he is serving a 4-year term as Regent of the ACTL.
