Beverley leads Borden Ladner Gervais LLP’s IP Litigation group and practises in all areas of IP litigation. She specializes in complex litigation in the Federal Court and in actions under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. She also advises clients on IP regulatory issues such as listing patents on the Patent Register, reporting patents to the Patented Medicines Prices Review Board (PMPRB), Certificates of Supplementary Protection, and the Register of Innovative Drugs as it relates to data protection. In addition, Beverley advises on other patent portfolio management, patentability, validity, and freedom-to-operate issues. Beverley is also active in the IP community including as a past Director of the IPIC/McGill Understanding Patents Course, Chair of the CBA IP Section’s Court Practice Committee, Co-Vice Chair of IPO’s Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Issues Committee, and as an editor of Carswell’s Consolidated Intellectual Property Statutes and Regulations. Beverley also mentors associates and students in her firm and IP practitioners in other firms through IPO’s mentoring programs. Beverley speaks and writes regularly on issues relating to her practice. Beverley has been an advocate before the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the PMPRB.
