Billie advises First Nations and Métis communities on matters related to economic development, commercial leasing, industry partnerships and community governance. Billie represents Indigenous communities and businesses in negotiations with resource companies to establish joint ventures and other business relationships. She advises Indigenous leadership on corporate structuring, financial administration, governance, and drafting laws and bylaws. Billie advises clients in various industries on general commercial matters, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations. Billie has appeared before the Court of King's Bench of Alberta and the Provincial Court of Alberta and has experience with regulatory proceedings before the Alberta Utilities Commission, the Alberta Energy Regulator, and the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada. Billie is an Executive Fellow at the School of Public Policy (2023–present), Executive Member of the Aboriginal Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association (2020–present), and a member of the Indigenous Bar Association (2017–present). Billie is recognized as a leading practitioner in aboriginal law by The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory (2022-present) and received a Lexpert Rising Star Award in 2021. She was called to the Bar of Alberta in 2015.
