Cam Cameron is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, practising in the firm’s business law and Indigenous law groups. His general practice focuses on commercial contracts, including licensing, distribution, collaboration, and funding agreements, in particular those related to Indigenous commercial matters and gaming. He regularly works with Indigenous communities (doing business on and off-reserve) on a variety of economic development matters that include joint ventures. This work includes negotiating and drafting impact benefit agreements and revenue-sharing agreements. He also provides strategic legal advice, including the duty to consult assessments for communities, Crown corporations, and interested private entities. With respect to gaming law, he advises clients on gambling laws, including contests and sweepstakes. He also advises new participants entering the iGaming (online) market in Ontario – a province which established a new iGaming market in collaboration with private gaming companies in 2022. He has been recognized in both The Canadian LegalLexpert® Directory and the Legal 500 Canada.
