Carol practises securities law, specializing in derivatives, investment funds, and digital assets, including cryptocurrencies and blockchain. She works extensively for managers of investment funds, particularly in the area of product development, and has an extensive derivatives practice, including negotiating documentation, advising on regulatory compliance matters, and developing new derivatives-based investment products. She advises on a number of leading-edge transactions, including in the digital currency and asset space, advising investment funds and others that focus on, or are involved with, cryptocurrencies, digital assets and securities, and blockchain technology. She advises clients on new investment products, crypto asset trading platforms, security token platforms, staking, DeFi and NFTs. Carol is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences on derivatives, investment funds, and digital assets. She is recognized as a leader in her field by Derivatives Week and is a past recipient of the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award. She has been recognized every year since 2006 in The Best Lawyers in Canada for Mutual Funds Law, and since 2021 for Securities Law and Derivatives Law. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1986.
