Christopher is a partner at Sequoia Legal LLP who works with First Nations, tribal councils, Métis, and other Indigenous groups throughout Canada as a litigator, negotiator and strategic advisor. Christopher has appeared as counsel in the superior courts of BC, AB and NWT, the Specific Claims Tribunal, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada. He negotiates multi-party agreements such as specific claim settlements, consultation process, and impact benefit agreements between Indigenous clients and proponents in forestry, oil and gas, and mining. He provides strategic advice on leveraging Aboriginal and Treaty rights to preserve lands and practices, and to benefit from development of those lands for future generations. Christopher also provides legal services respecting economic development including purchase/sale of commercial lands/assets and businesses, construction of passenger ferry, trust work for land and cash settlements, and corporate services for Indigenous-owned entities.
