Claude is a partner who practises in the areas of corporate/commercial, product liability, life sciences, and construction litigation. A significant focus of Claude’s practice involves class action defence litigation. Claude has appeared before all levels of courts in Quebec, as well as the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also acted in many arbitration hearings, both as counsel and arbitrator. Claude represents a wide range of clients such as pharmaceutical companies, financial institutions, power companies, franchisors, food conglomerates, and public corporations. Claude has taught the Law of Evidence at the Faculty of Law of Université de Montréal, and has been published widely in legal literature, having authored a number of books, articles and book chapters on class actions, the law of evidence and e-commerce law. He was awarded the title “AdE” (lawyer emeritus) by the Barreau du Québec for his outstanding contributions to the profession, was a Benchmark Canada finalist for the “Litigator of the Year Award” in Quebec in 2018 and 2021, and obtained The Advocates’ Society’s Excellence in Mentoring Award for Quebec in 2021.
