Clayton Jones has a busy labour, employment and human rights practice in addition to managing the Vancouver LEHR group. Clayton provides strategic and practical advice related to workplace matters in both union and non-union contexts. Clients also frequently rely on Clayton to assist with significant workplace changes including workforce reductions, closures, bankruptcies/insolvencies, and corporate transactions. Clayton regularly acts as counsel in labour arbitrations and mediations. He also appears as counsel before the BC Labour Relations Board, BC Human Rights Tribunal, BC Employment Standards Branch, BC Supreme Court, BC Court of Appeal and Canada Industrial Relations Board.
On May 20, 2015, Vicwest Inc. (Vicwest), Kingspan Group Limited (Kingspan) and AG Growth International Inc. (AG Growth) completed a plan of arrangement whereby Kingspan (through its subsidiary) acquired all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Vicwest and AG Growth (through subsidiary) acquired substantially all of the assets of Vicwest’s Westeel division. Pursuant to the terms of the plan of arrangement, each holder of common shares received $12.70 for each common share held. The transaction was valued approximately $360 million.
