A member of Gowling WLG's advocacy group, Daniel Boivin is a litigator in the firm’s Ottawa office. His practice focuses on health law and medical defence, including acting as counsel to the Canadian Medical Protective Association. He also provides advice on commercial litigation matters and constitutional linguistic issues. He has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, and the SCC. He also advises on a variety of health policy issues. He has lectured on evidence law and advocacy skills at various organizations, including as a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. Active in the promotion of access to justice, he is the immediate past president of Fédération des association de juristes d’expression française and past president of the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Ontario. He has been recognized in Chambers Canada,The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory, and The Best Lawyers™ in Canada. He has been involved on the boards of a variety of amateur sports (Fédération Québécoise de ski alpin) and cultural organizations (radio communautaire francophone d'Ottawa, the Council for the Arts in Ottawa, and the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra).
