Daniel is a member of BLG’s Private Client Group. His practice focuses on estates and trusts litigation, including will challenges and interpretations, passings of accounts, removals of trustees, dependants' relief, guardianships, and other cases involving trusts, powers of attorney and estate bonds. He also represents clients in contentious multi-jurisdictional administrations and financial institutions in disputes involving aging investors. Daniel acts as a mediator of estates and trusts disputes, and has expertise in insurance defence, commercial litigation and family law. He is certified as a Specialist in Estates and Trusts Law by the Law Society of Ontario and is a designated Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Member or former member of: Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP); Contentious Trusts & Estates SIG Committee 2019–2021; STEP Private Client Awards Judges’ Panel; and STEP Disciplinary Panel. He has been recognized every year since 2010 in The Best Lawyers in Canada (Trusts and Estates), and since 2017 in Chambers High Net Worth (Private Wealth Disputes). He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1993.
