Dan Murdoch is a partner in the litigation and dispute resolution group and a member of the associates committee in the Toronto office. He is also chair of the firm’s claims and risk management committee. His practice focuses on class actions, complex commercial litigation, and insolvency and restructuring matters. His class action practice includes securities, product liability, and professional negligence. He has been counsel on multiple securities class actions, frequently obtaining early dismissal. His commercial litigation practice involves a wide range of matters, including securities, shareholder disputes, real estate, professional negligence, and product liability disputes. In his insolvency practice, he has acted for debtors, monitors, and creditors in Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA), bankruptcy, and receivership proceedings, including cross-border CCAA/Chapter 15 proceedings. He has appeared at all levels of courts in Ontario and at regulatory tribunals, and acts regularly in commercial arbitration matters.
