David Campbell is a partner in Gowling WLG's Toronto office. He is a trusted legal and business advisor focused on domestic and cross-border private equity fund formation and investments, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, reorganizations, and general commercial matters. His clients include institutional investors, private equity funds, venture investors, financial and strategic purchasers, and start-ups across a range of industries. David has considerable experience: structuring private equity funds and investments; negotiating complex purchase and sale transactions; structuring joint venture arrangements; preparing limited partnership and shareholder agreements; implementing reorganizations; negotiating commercial agreements; and advising emerging companies. David manages Gowling WLG’s Toronto Corporate Services Group. In the past, David has volunteered as a director of Neighbourhood Information Post (poverty alleviation) and the George Hull Centre for Children and Families (mental health). He has been recognized in The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory and named in the Thomson Reuters Stand-out Lawyers 2024 list.
