David's practice involves representing franchisors, franchise advisory councils, franchisee groups/associations and individual franchisees in all aspects of franchise law. Mr. Kornhauser has been a member of the CFA for 28 years and the ABA Forum on Franchising for over 20 years, is a member of the Executive of the OBA Franchise Law Section (FLS) (Chair 2022-23; past Chair 2023/24), was Chair of the Bar Education Working Group of the FLS, a group formed to educate Ontario lawyers on franchise law, was the Co-Chair of the FLS’s Continuing Legal Education Committee which designs programs for the FLS, is the Franchise Law editor for Toronto Law Journal, was co-editor of the Franchising 101, a website developed by the members of the FLS to provide basic information on franchise law for Ontario lawyers and is a member of the CFA's Legal and Legislative Committee. Co-author of Franchisee Associations in Canada (Carswell, 2011). Additionally, Mr. Kornhauser served as the Co-Chair for the OBA’s 2017 Annual Legal Conference, Co-Chair of the OBA's 2014 Institute on Franchise Law and the 2007 CFA Legal Symposium. Mr. Kornhauser has been a speaker at various franchising seminars and has authored or co-authored numerous papers on various topics in franchise law.
