Earl A. Cherniak, LL.B, LL.D, KC, FCIArb is a partner with over 60 years of litigation and dispute resolution experience. His practice focusses on arbitrations and mediations, and trial and appellate work in a broad spectrum of complex commercial, insurance, public litigation and arbitration. He is a roster member at 3 Verulam Buildings chambers in London (UK); the Canadian roster of arbitrators of the International Chamber of Commerce and ADR Institute of Canada; and an honourary North American member of the (UK) Commercial Bar Association. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; a member of the international and Canadian panels of arbitrators for the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR); the Past Chair of the Toronto Commercial Arbitration Society (TCAS); an Elected Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers , the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the Litigation Counsel of America; and Past President of The Advocates’ Society (Ontario). He was a Bencher of the Law Society of Ontario (1999–2007) and a Chair of the Proceedings Authorization Committee. He was a commissioner of the Ontario Law Reform Commission (1986–1992).
