Esi Codjoe is a partner with Turnpenney Milne LLP. She practises in the areas of employment law, labour law, and human rights law. She represents both employers and employees. Esi has known experience in handling discrimination and harassment disputes, including representing parties before tribunals, conducting mediations, and conducting workplace investigations. As a former adjudicator at the Human Rights Tribunal Ontario, she has particular knowledge in the areas of race and gender. Esi also practises in the area of alternative dispute resolution, including mediating disputes of matters filed in courts and administrative tribunals. Esi taught courses in employment and labour law at a college and university. She is a frequent trainer and provides customized training to clients in the private, public, and broader public sectors. In 2018 Esi was named as one of Canadian Lawyer Magazine’s Top 25 lawyers in human rights law, and in 2019 Lexpert named her as a Change Agent in Law. She has also been recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada in 2024 and 2025 in the labour and employment category.
