Eugenia (Evie) Bouras is counsel in McCarthy Tétrault’s Toronto Business Law Group, specializing in advertising and marketing law. She advises clients on gaming, regulated consumer products, and e-commerce matters, with a focus on compliance, innovation, and strategy. Evie guides clients through each stage of the product development process, from initial design to licensing and marketing campaigns. She has extensive experience working with companies in diverse markets, such as gaming, food, alcohol, cosmetics, electronics, cannabis, natural health products, toys, and radio spectrum products. Evie helps clients navigate complex regulatory frameworks and protect their interests in areas such as website terms of use, consumer protection, privacy, and anti-spam legislation (CASL). She has a strong background in Quebec consumer protection law, having assisted industry associations in understanding and advocating for changes to Bill 29, which introduced significant amendments to the Consumer Protection Act. She is well-versed in the challenges and opportunities that Quebec’s class action and consumer protection regime poses for businesses operating in the province.
