Geoff is one of Canada’s leading trial and appellate lawyers. His experience is unmatched, having tried over 250 jury and non-jury cases in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and argued in excess of 150 appeals in the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada in lawsuits ranging from the most sophisticated commercial matters through to major tort/personal injury cases; legal and medical malpractice claims and commercial insurance (including Director & Officer) cases. Geoff tried an even dozen murder trials as a younger lawyer. Geoff is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the author of On Trial: Advocacy Skills Law and Practice, a text frequently cited by courts in Canada, and a contributing author to Ontario Courtroom Procedure as well as a frequent lecturer on advocacy topics at professional continuing education programs. Geoff’s practice continues both as an expert trial & appellate advocate and a provider of litigation advice and assistance to the profession.
